Abstract

A relatively new technology, Blockchain has been around since the introduction of Bitcoin. It is a growing list of records that are connected serially with each other, providing security and traceability. The paper will be shedding light on the different types of blockchain and ways in which it can be used in the Indian IT industry based on its modus operandi. This is done using primary research which was targeted towards the Indian IT employees. It also talks about the factors that are inherently present in the Indian context which lead to employees accepting or rejecting this new technology and recommendations about the restructuring of the course content to help in bridging the skill gap because of the dearth of skills in the training system. This is done by identifying the current requirements for the maintenance of Blockchain by consulting the experts in this field and questionnaire circulated among the people with a background in IT.
