Abstract

With the emergence of industry 4.0, companies are driving towards a new view of quality as an important tool to sustain in the competition. Total Quality Management today is therefore considered to be an important philosophy that helps in striving customer satisfaction by maintaining zero defects in products and services. Human resource management plays a vital role when it comes to the successful implementation of TQM in any organization.

The research paper aids readers about the basic principles of Total Quality Management. The main agenda of the paper is to study the interface between human resource management and the workforce to support TQM in Indian automobile industry. Various interventions used by HR such as employee perception, support from leadership, right recruitment, training methods, transparency and autonomy are studied to know their influence in carrying out TQM in the organizations. Of these, the determinants are identified for the implementation of TQM using factor analysis.
