Abstract

The premature failure of hydro turbine blades, presents a genuine danger to the proficiency of Indian hydro power plants. Slurry erosion and cavitation erosion are the primary reason behind downtime in hydro turbine power plants, which indications to massivefinancialharms. Consequently the combinedoutcomes of the numerous researchers functioning in the region of combating slurry erosion and cavitation erosion of hydro turbine blades, particularly in perspective with Indian hydropower plants are presented in this article. In a way this review article will become the torch bearer for futuristic researcher in choosingasuitable coating method, coating material selection and various parameters for specifichydro turbine steel towardsrecover the lifecycle of turbine blades. Therefore, huge adverse destruction of turbine blades occurs due to erosion and cavitation which gets reduced.
