Abstract

Non-adherence to medication and treatment as prescribed by health care provider often leads to health complications and issues being prolonged; especially in cases of chronic disorders that cannot fully be cured or treatments that extend along a longer stretch of time. According to WHO, there has been an observed increased trend in morbidity rates because of the patient’s inability to follow the treatment plan. The most frequent cases often end up with a relapse or aggravated conditions because of lack of medication non-adherence even after completion of medical course. The WHO recognizes this issue to be a modifiable case with changes in the patient’s control status. The research methodology adopted aims at understanding the medication adherence Level and its factors under chronic disorders among Gen-X Population. A survey has been conducted among millennials among tier 1 and tier 2 cities in India who have at least a member of the Generation X age category within their family circle. The data has been quantitatively analyzed using SPSS. The results and derivations are intended to act as a launching board to understand whether the remedies to tackle medication non-adherence are required, thereby validating future course of action.
