Organizational Climate and Organizational Effectiveness Relationship: Mediating Role of Job Satisfaction

Abstract

Every business unit desires to survive and flourish in this competitive business environment for a long time which can only be possible provided the organization is effective enough. Various studies are there in literature explaining how organizational effectiveness is influenced by different variables but only few studies were found depicting the mediating role played by job satisfaction between the relationship of organizational climate and organizational effectiveness.  The present descriptive research study was intended to discover whether the association among organizational climate and effectiveness was mediated by job satisfaction in Information Technology sector among Delhi and NCR. 581 employees working among different IT organizations using convenient sampling were approached for collecting the data. s statistics and structural equation modelling were applied for testing the association among constructs. Output of the research study disclosed that organizational climate shared a considerable relationship with job satisfaction and organizational effectiveness. It was also revealed that employees were happy and satisfied at their job and had a positive perception about the existing work climate. Job satisfaction found to have significant effect on organizational effectiveness and also found to mediate the influence of organizational climate on effectiveness. The outcomes of the research work could be useful for the managers and decision makers as a basis for framing various policies regarding the welfare of employees and shaping the type of climate that can bring effectiveness to the organization.
