Performance Enhancement of Solar Still Using Heat Storage Medium and Nanoparticles

Abstract

Water is important need for all living beings on the earth. This review paper expresses about the purification of water to make it free from impurities by the help of solar stills and efforts that are made to increase efficiency of solar stills, because on upcoming years water can be one of the major causes of war. By use of solar still ocean and impure water can be treated to make it free from germs and make it potable. Since past many years solar stills not commonly used because of its low productivity and efficiencies, but many researchers contribute in this field and improve the productivity and efficiency of solar stills.Performance of solar stills can enhance by different modification in solar stills. Among the various methods to increase productivity of a solar still, using heat storage medium and nano-particles are more viable options recent years. On the other hand, efficiency can be increased by reducing the losses by proper insulation and by proper coating.
