Abstract

The Soil available in central area of Punjab varies from sandy loam to clayey. As clayey is broad expensive in nature because of minerals particularly montmorillonite. There is enormously volume change when interacts with water and shrink when the water presses out. With this continuous swellandshrinkoftheclayey soil, it establishes foundation failure and structural failures. Many stabilization strategies are in utilization for improving the geotechnical traits of clayey soil. This experimental study aimed at improving the engineering characteristics of clayey soil through the use of quarry dust, as this is a waste material produced during production aggregates and quarrying of stones.Thisresearchpaperrepresents theoutcomeofquarrydust onengineeringfeaturesrelated to clayeysoil. For Research clayeysoilsamplesare mixed with2%,4%,6%and8% 10% ,12% ofquarrydust after that Various laboratory experiments havebeen conducted on various specimen. The test results show that byadding of quarry dust the California bearing ratio (CBR) and compaction parameters of Clayey soil are enhanced. It isdetectedthat theCBR percentagehave been improved from2% to 7.5%,theOMC of soil have been also reducedfrom17% to10% andMDD havebeenimprovedfrom1.6to1.83gm/cc.
