Review Article on Effect of G.G.B.S & Lime on Clayey Soil
Abstract
One of the most tricky soils which lay a few difficulties to structural specialists is far reaching soil. In immature countries because of the prominent improvement in street foundation, soil adjustment has become the most productive arrangement in development enterprises. Methods for soil stabilisation are mechanical and the use of admixtures. Cement, Lime, fly ash, GGBS… has usually used us stabiliser for developing the properties of soil. The utilisation of GGBS and lime in the soil to enhance workability and mechanical properties and make it more efficient to use has been review, evaluate and discussed by this review paper. Lime and GGBS as local natural and industrial sources implied for chemical stabilisation. Moreover, use of waste materials in the soil for stabilisation purpose have been advanced for some time, and the utilisation of industrial wastes for changing the properties like strength, swelling, shrinkage and plasticity index of clayey soils open up a new avenue for solid waste management. However, the reduction of waste material and its usage in construction material has become an area of potential and promise.
