To Study The Mechanical Properties of Geopolymer Paver Blocks
Abstract
After the automobile industry, cement industry is the second most carbon-di-oxide producersin the world. Approximattely, 7% of greenhouse is prodused by this industry. On other hand, Coal power plants produce fly ash as a solid waste, whose disposal is difficult and create problem. For sustainable and eco-friendly materials, some hard changes are required to convert those materials as construction materials. In this way, concrete without cement is prepaired called as geopolymer concrete. This study aims to develop geopolymer paver blocks and compared with the commercially available paver blocks. The paver blocks are tested for the compressive strength, split tensile strength, flexural strength and abrasive strength.
