Study of Mechanical Properties of Bituminous Mix Using Waste Leather Shoes and Rubber
Abstract
Emerging technologies in today’s world focus on renewable use of entities, which is also need of hour. Road network constitutes a major part of any country. The accessibility of any remote area may increase the chances of having access to hidden resources. Making roads from conventional ingredient is a costly affair. In this study an approach has been made to use waste material as road construction ingredient. The use of crumb leather shoes in flexible pavements in the form of fillers/additives could minimize environmental pollution and maximize natural resource conservation. Crumb leather shoes made from leather and rubber (the major components of leather shoes are leather and shoe’s sole). This experimental research related to broad parts of waste leather shoes instead of bitumen VG40.
