A Review on Removal of Colour and Dye by Using Different Natural Materials
Abstract
The excessive growth of industrial activity and the use of various kinds of chemical poses serious threat to the environment. The disposal of dye and colour in to the natural water system through the effluent of various industries are the key parameter to recognize the water is normal or contaminated. Most of the living species of environment are badly affected with the occurrence of colour and dye and itaffects the organism present on ground and ground water table. The release of untreated wastewater having colour and other contaminants directly in to the surface water system imparts serious environmental issues. The groundwater table and soil are badly affected by the colour of industrial. It is observed in various studies that the adsorption mechanism was found to best method for the removal of colour from contaminated wastewater. This study shows that various types of natural substances have been used in recent past for the removalof dyes and colour from wastewater like activated carbon coated Calotropis gigantea latex, activated carbon coated rice husk, clay, nanoclay, Bentonites, Kaolinite, Sepiolite etc. and these natural materials have been prove to be highly effective for colour and dye removal.
