Abstract

Maintaining the reliability in the power distribution systems is a huge challenge nowadays, but some of the researchers are finding out the different methodologies to overcome those problems. In this paper, the hybrid power system reliability approach is implemented for the distribution systems for better performance. The implementation includes the combination of contingency enumeration method and OPAL method as a hybrid approach to achieve the good reliability in the network of power systems. The contingency method helps for reliability assessment based on the contingencies evaluated, and the extension method of the contingency method is OPAL method evaluating reliability for delivery points in the meshed power systems network. The integration of this two methods helps to achieve good reliability and power stability in the delivery points of power distribution system.
