Abstract

The use of Remote Sensing techniques in Agricultural Inspection has established as a major tool in farming modernization over the years, with the advancement of satellite and aerial imagery. Remote Sensing in agriculture has find its application in crop health monitoring, precision farming, crop yield prediction, inspection of crop disease, water content etc. The reduced cost of the various remote sensing sensors like RGB sensors, thermal sensors LIDAR etc. have added an extra benefit of this method. Lately, the development of photogrammetric algorithms has proved an advantage of this method. In this paper, some of the agricultural remote sensing techniques have been discussed and critically appraised, from the view point of analyzing and classifying the various techniques and their shortcomings through in-depth studies.
