Evaluation of EDM Characteristic of Duplex Stainless Steel (DSS) using Taguchi Method

Abstract

In the 4.O industry evolution it is required to work very precise and accurate in minimum time. In order to accomplish this, it is necessary to know process parameter of machine for specific material on which it needs to be work. The present work aims to study influence of the electro-discharge machining (EDM) parameter on duplex stainless steel 2205. Optimization of EDM process parameters is obtained using Taguchi experimental design. Based on the optimum parameters material removal rate (MRR), tool wear rate (TWR) is measured.
