Abstract

Soap operas play important role in the lifestyle of common people. They expose various cultures, languages, dressing styles and religion. This is influencing the lifestyle of the viewers. They tend to adapt that in mean time and find happiness in that. According to psychological analysis peoples whose life is in more risk will try to live the present life happily.  Once such is the life of shore fishermen in Kanyakumari district. This article is about the impact of soap operas in the life of fishermen families. The study concluded that the operas have created impact in viewing patterns in respondents’ language, interaction with neighbours and in dressing style.
