Are There Any Relationship Between components of Coping Styles and Health Anxiety of Divorced Women?

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to investigate the role of ways of coping with health anxiety among Andimeshk divorced women in Iran. This study was a descriptive – correlation study. The population in this study included women who got divorced in Andimeshk in the first half of last year. Before,divorced women referred to the Family Intervention Center, affiliated to the Social Welfare Department to reduce the divorce. Among population (90 people) by simple random sampling 73 (of Morgan table) as samples were selected. Data collection tools include Lazarus and Folkman ways of coping questionnaire (1985), Salkovskis, and Warwick Health anxiety questionnaire (2002). Results: To analyze the data, Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple linear regressionhave used,the results showed that there is a significant negative relationship between the ways of copingIncluded: distancing style, seeking social support, problem solving, positive reappraisal and health anxiety with divorced women in Andimeshk. Based on the results, this relationship was not significant amongdirect confronting coping, self-controlling and Escape Avoidance style with health anxiety.
