Abstract

The paper is an attempt to broaden the insight and discuss the interdisciplinary of written literature and adapted literature with the help of reader’s response theories and audience response theories. The genre that has been selected for study is Animation.World being in the grip of technology today, animated world of 3-D and 5-D has grabbed our imagination but due to differential attitude of 21st century man about accepting literature needs to be ascertained.  The study includes the application of the reader’s response and audience’ response theories in order to find out how a book like ‘A Christmas Carol’, a good read of its time, fails to capture the imagination of the audience when animated. It might be that the excessive use of special effects in the movie ‘A Christmas Carol’ ruins the real essence of the text.
