Review Study on Effect of Eccentricity on Conjugate Free Convection in Eccentric Annuli with Vertical Position
Abstract
In different fields of engineering applications such as electrical, nuclear, solar and thermal and the drilling operations of oil and gas wells, the study of collective conduction-free convection heat transfer in eccentric annuli with vertical position is important. In the drilling process, through the drill the liquid muds are pumped from a surface mud tank and back to the mud tank through the annular gap between the well bore wall and the drill pipe. Free convection may occur during idle periods and it can contribute to passive cooling of the drill Pipe. In this article, to achieve thermal full development different heights of annulus are calculated corresponding to different eccentricities.
