Study of Anthropometric Measurement Status of the Rural and Urban Male Students
Abstract
The researcher conducted study with the aim to evaluate the anthropometric measurements of children from the rural and urban background in and around Jaipur Rajasthan. To serve this purpose, a total of ten anthropometric measurements, viz. Age, height, weight, Length of leg, sitting height, Chest Circumference, Thigh Circumference, Length of arm, Calf Circumference and Upper Arm Circumference were measured on randomly selected 1600 healthy school going children (800 each from rural as well as urban) aged 14–17 years from the rural and urban schools of Jaipur district, India. The outcome endosedthat there was a clear-cut difference in anthropometric characteristics between rural children and urban children.
