Abstract

The literature data on the condition of rare-earth elements in acid solutions was analyzed. The main regularities for the sorption of rare-earth element and iron ions with the joint presence of Purolite 150 highly acid sulfocationite were determined. Based on the results of sorption of lanthanum, cerium and iron ions from acid and weakly acid solutions under static conditions, sorption isotherms were formed, and the thermodynamic parameters were calculated. The obtained study results showed that Purolite 150 cationite had a rather high capacity for rare-earth elements in combination with low sorbability of ferric iron and is a promising ionite for further studies.
