Collaborative Practice of Health Interprofessionals in Abortion Service: Scoping Review

Abstract

The main causes of death in pregnant women in Indonesia are dominated by three diseases, namely bleeding, hypertension in pregnancy and infection. Abortion is one of the causes of bleeding in pregnant women, so it is necessary to practice health interprofessionals collaboration in providing holistic abortion services in the ER. The purpose of this study is to find out the practice of health interprofessionals collaboration in abortion services. Identify the use of Pubmed, ProQuest, Wiley, ScienceDirect and gray literature (Google Scholar) database articles from 2009 to 2019. Of the 50 articles, eight articles were obtained based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The article in this study is qualitative research. Articles obtained from developed countries which are divided into 3 continents, namely Europe, America and Australia. There are two themes found related to collaborative practice, namely the role and barriers to the practice of interprofessional collaboration in abortion services. Providing abortion services requires the practice of health interprofessionals collaboration to overcome obstacles that will occur.
