Abstract

At present, health problems are increasing day- by-day at a high pace. The current hospital centric medi care system is inefficient to state conditions that demand immediate treatment such as diabetic patients, heart strokes etc. To overcome these problems time to time health monitoring is very essential for elderly and ill patients who are not in the hospital. With development in technology and miniaturization of sensors, there have  been striving to utilize the new technology in different areas to improve the quality of human life. A modern way to improve the health conditions is to observe the wellbeing of a patient remotely. As a result, this attempt will enable in continuous monitoring and recording of health parameters like temperature, blood pressure and so on. An attempt towards this will solve a healthcare problem that the current society is facing. The primary goal of the project is to design an Internet of Things infrastructure for digital health care solution that consists of the following process (i) Detection of patient’s vitals using sensors connected with raspberry pi, (ii) sending data to cloud storage, and (iii) providing the detected data for remote viewing. Remote viewing of the data enables a specialist or guardian to screen a patient's wellbeing progress away from medical clinic premises. Also, involves alerting the doctor through SMS if any essential parameter of the patient deviates from the normal value.
