Performance Analysis of Different Speed Control Techniques for BLDC MOTOR

Abstract

DC motors are primarily used in every application. Controlling the DC motor drive system turns out to be the primary objective. A motor which shows the characteristics of a DC motor but does not have the commutator and brushes is called a brushless DC motor. These motors are popular due to their advantages over other motors in terms of reliability, noise, efficiency, starting torque and longevity.  In order to make operation more reliable and less noisy, brushless dc motors are used.  In this paper, different methods of speed control are discussed. In real time application of speed control of BLDC motor, several strategies are implemented for the speed control phenomenon. The proposed methods are the use of PI controller, use of current controller and by using a PID controller.
