The Effect of Competency and Self Efficacy on Motivation and Performance at Public Health Centre (Puskesmas) Kelongbintan

Abstract

Economic progress is inseparable from the quality of the community, one of which is the indicator of public health. To support this, the government provides health facilities for the community in the form of Puskesmas (Public Health Centre), which are the center of public health services for the community. To provide maximum performance results, health workers must be competent in their fields and confident in their abilities so that health workers will be motivated to work optimally. This type of research is associative research The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of competence and self-efficacy on performance both directly and through motivation. Data analysis techniques using SPSS tools in testing the path analysis. The number of samples in this study amounted to 47 staff and health workers at Public Health Centre (Puskesmas) Kelong. The results of the analysis found that there is a significant effect of self-efficacy on work motivation while competence has no significant effect on work motivation. Competence has no significant effect on performance, while self-efficacy has a significant effect on performance. This study also found that competence does not affect performance through work motivation. And so self-efficacy does not affects performance through work motivation.
