Contemplation of QS Al-Baqarah Verse 164 Through IRD Batik Motif “Pesona Covid-19 Endorphin”

Abstract

Two things must be done in Islamic Education according to the tafsir (interpretation) of the Qur’an, namely concept and implementation, both science implementation as well as a social one. Islamic education is many efforts in educating Islam in a planned manner through experience, knowledge, capabilities, and skills so that students can recognize, understand, appreciate, and believe in Islamic teachings. Batik is a legacy of Wastra art (traditional cloth) that has many stories and high philosophical value in each of its strands. Batik is a cultural achievement, world cultural heritage, that has to be preserved and developed. This research is field research, which seeks to describe batik motifs into Islamic education media, with the results of data collection through observation, literature study, interviews and documentation, and analyzed descriptively. The research resulting in the IRD batik motif “Pesona COVID-19 Endorphin” as a medium of Islamic education and the style of thinking in the Qur’an that’s outlined based on contemplation from QS. Al-Baqarah verse 164 into the batik motif. The motif itself contains some philosophies inside of it. First is the style of thinking in the Qur'an that is contemplative thinking, contemplating the creation of the universe which is implemented through IRD batik motif Pesona COVID-19 Endorphin. Secondly, tafsir of QS. Al-Baqarah verse 164 carries the value of Islamic Education, and third, the implementation of social science from the style of thinking in the Qur’an combines the values ​​of Religion, Science, and Art towards the Mercy and Grace of Allah SWT as the final purpose.
