Abstract

With the vast amount of data generated nowadays, organizing and managing of these data are very important to allow users to access, retrieve, and update their data by using database systems (DBS). Most of the current organizations use DBS to increase the efficiency and the productivity of their organizations, but the security threats are becoming more dangerous to the DB. Data encryption is one of the advanced measures used to consolidate data security inside Databases. It is an essential technique to protect data against theft, disclosure or modification from different typologies of attacks. This paper discussed the importance of conducting the process of preprocessing on data before encryption, which includes coding data in the database, as well as adding random values to increase the complexity and randomness of data by breaking statistical relationships between data to produce efficient encryption capable of resisting multiple of attacks. Results of suggested coding procedure showed that the randomness of encoded data is less than not encoded data, which means the randomness results of encoded data are better than the original data.
