A Study on The Effects of Job Stress on Work Life Balance of Female Employees in Private Education Industry of India

Abstract

The central government of our country as also of the states alongside the rest of India is championing thecause of enhancing the crucial role and input of women in the Indian society today. The government has also enforced women reservation for women;   additionally the age limit has been extended for those women wishing to apply for government jobs. This has augmented the contribution made by women towards the economic fabric of the Indian family and the entire nation. However, the burning question for today’s woman is how to maintain equilibrium between the family commitments and work life. It is to this end that the current research is directed; while all relevant data was procured from women respondents employed in the field of education. The chief complexity faced by these womenwas seen to be the challenge of simultaneous management of professional and personal family life at home. The available data was analyzed employing SPSS Software and it was concluded that inappropriate pay structure and frenzied work routine was the chief reason for stress at work. Further, it was observed that owing to such severe stress, financial problems have seen an increase while a notable decrease in the productivity of women teachers was seen exerting considerable impact on the work life. It was hence concluded that there exists a directly observable relationship between a woman’s work life and stress.
