Abstract

Micro Grids is one of the fast-emerged power system structure as part of Smart Grids. Due to advancement of power electronic devices, advance control strategies & high-level bandwidth communication is established in micro grids with more reliability & flexibility. But one of the major problems is controlling electronically coupled distributed energy resources (EC-DERs) which results in harmonic loads share, transients during mode transformations, parallel control of voltage and current quality, harmonic oscillations in microgrid. Technical impact of the above problems results in increase of complexity for design control strategy of energy balancing, operation modes transition & quality of power along with effective cost. To get solutions for above issues lot of research work is required. To get more purposeful insights, a review is carried out in this emerging area and various problems related to power quality, micro grid operational control strategies solutions are presented.
