Abstract

Recent days, the hassle of world energy supply is the hot topic and this will lead to the requirement for development of technology in renewable energy.  Biodiesel’s energy is one of the possibilities that would cover the destiny of energy demand.  Many early studies suggest the opportunities of the biodiesel made out of Pongamia Pinnata getting used as a fuel in CI engine.  A test has been made in this paper to improve the characteristics of emission and performance of the engine fuelled with the Pongamia Pinnata Seed Oil (PPSO) by differ the compression ratio. The effects monitor the performance and emission of the engine fuelled with neat PPSO gives an improvement on the compressibility of 18.1:1.  Therefore, its miles resulted that; the methyl ester of PPSO will be an alternative choice to diesel in CI engines.  However, it based ideally on the predicted compression ratio.
