The Economic Effect of Coronavirus (COVID-19) on Higher Education in Jordan: An Analytical Survey
Abstract
The article aims at analyzing the possible effects of coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis on higher education institutions in Jordan. The method of the study is quantitative relying heavily on Likert five-point agreement scale. The findings of the study reveal that coronavirus(COVID-19) crisis pushed universities and educational institutes in the country to adopt and improve the designing and delivery of online courses. The results indicate an economic impact on universities and colleges across the country, and the private institutions are heavily affected. Moreover, it is realized that the prolonged lockdown is a threat to the function of universities, particularly private institutions.
