Abstract

Wind power plants connected to power grid usually affects the power quality of the supply system due to the intermittent nature of wind. In this analysis work the aggregated Adama-I wind farm model was developed using the power factory software tool from DIgSILENT. Using this software, the steady state harmonic load flow analysis of the wind farm at 33KV bus-bar was performed. It has been found that the simulated THD output of current and voltage is within permissible limit set by international standards. In its present operation condition, the power quality problem level of the Adama-I wind farm is in good status and do not have much negative impact on the performance of the grid system.
