Abstract

As we know that using of expansive soil in the construction site is a major problem due to its shrinkage and swelling properties. To remove these changes and making of expansive soil useful for the construction it should be treated adequately. Black cotton soils are expansive soils and having low bearing capacity. Generally black cotton soils having Montmorillonite clay mineral, due to this mineral soil having shrinkage and swelling properties. If the moisture content changes in black cotton soil swelling nature will be increases. The objective of stabilization is to improve black cotton soil (Problematic soil)used as a construction material by adding Fly ash (FA) and Rice Husk ash (RHA). Soil is a distinctive material. By using some Admixtures soil can be stabilized with different % of Fly ash (FA) (5, 10, 15, 20, 25%) andRiceHusk ash (RHA) (2, 4, 6, 8, 10%).
