Abstract

Cipher-TextPolicyAttributeBasedEncryption(CPABE)schemeisanencryptiontechnology that provides fine grained access control to client data in cloud storage and a secure sharing of such client data in cloud environment. CP-ABE has been used to secure the sharing of Personal Health Records (PHR) and other client files in Cloud Environment. The Hierarchical Ciphertext Policy Attribute Based Encryption method proposed in this paper intends to reduce the computation and storage in generating and storing the access structures for file access and sharing. The proposed method groups the files from the file owner based on the file attributes. Files with similar attributes are grouped together and a single access structure is generated for the group. A large integrated access structure is built from the access structures generated for individual or group of files using a greedy approach. Simulation of this method proves that the method reduces the computation complexity and storage of access structures compared to the existing schemes.
