Estimation of Link Margin for Free Space Optical Communication Using Real Time Data

Abstract

In Today’s technical world, Free space Optics is one of the trending methodologies that utilizes the visible light to transfer data and is attracting the researcher’s attention. This paper studies the impact of the assorted weather situations on the communication link of FSO and conjointly includes the results atmospheric attenuation that is created due to rain, fog. It also aims at estimating the link margin of a free space optical link. The obtained link margin was found to be 6.8834 dB.
