IOT Chattel Tracking System

Abstract

This paper presents a low cost IoT chattel tracking and monitoring system. As security of possessions being one of the most important concerns, this model enables to track your personal belongings in a particular floor or building. The system uses ZigBee tags which has both transmitter and receiver. The transmitter is placed with the object to be tracked which sends radio waves to the receivers. Radio Frequency module’s general range is 3-4 meters. If the object being tracked moves out of range, an alert message will be sent to the specified owners through Global System for Mobile communication (GSM). Further the location of the object can be tracked through Global Positioning System (GPS).
