Abstract

A smart grid with Hybrid renewable energy sources (HRES) is proposed. The environmental changes bring changes in speed of the wind and the solar irradiance which shows the impact on the output voltage from wind energy and solar energy generation. A mechanism is required to regulate the voltage and frequency for a changing speeds of  wind speeds and solar irradiance. To regulate this we use Maximum power point tracking Technique and PSO based controller based technique is Implemented. Also the percentage of frequency variation and voltage variation is analyzed and compared with the existing methods by reducing the current and voltage Total Harmonic Distortion(THD). Here MATLAB/Simulink tool is used to implement the technique.
