Abstract

Change Order is a proposed change in written text between owners and contractors to
change several conditions from the initial contract documents such as increased or
reduced works, these changes change the specification in contract cost, payment
schedule, and project schedule. The number of items that is changed in a change order
contract changed from one another depends on the location of the project and what kind
of project itself. This research focus on the number of Change Order that happened in a
long segment road preservation work and intended for future long segment road
preservation work to prioritize caution (in planning and execution stage), and for future
researches. The purpose of this research is to analyse the number of item change in a
long segment road preservation work in Banten, Jakarta, and West Java. This research
used descriptive statistics method and literature study on past research and other media.
The data gathered from several sources are Change Order Items in Banten (46 data),
West Java (9 data), and Jakarta (13 data). Each are compiled and simplified into how
many items changed, then a compiled data and each data from its region were analysed
using IBM SPSS with descriptive statistics method. The analysis reveals different results
for each region. Banten and Jakarta has most changed order happened in the first
division: mobilization, but West Java have most in restoration and minor works. The
analysis was also done several times, with some ignoring mobilization work because of its
generality. The results reveal there are other items that required more attention and care
in long segment road preservation works. Literature study also reveals other aspects and
indicators that needed prioritizing and care for long segment road preservation projects.
This research is limited to the region said before. It is also limited in the data gathered
from various sources. This research uses data from several resources with a total of 68
change order from regions as said above. This research also used relatively new data
ranged from 2013 – 2018. The analysis was done to find the amount of changed order
that happens across long segment road preservation works.
