Iot Based Traffic Sign Board Classification For Autonomous Vehicles

Abstract

Nowadays, the human beings facing numerous accidents in the roadway transportations. In
such accidents they also lose their lives and valuable assets. The system conceived with the
support of Raspberry pi to prevent these issues. The proposed system’s primary aim is to
automatically recognize the road sign when driving and regulate the speed, or make the turn as
per the road sign. Recognition of road signs can be used to alert the distracted driver and to
avoid his / her acts which could cause an accident. The intention is to prevent accidents by both
manual and automated processes that all acts will be executed depending on the road signs
observed. An automatic recognition and identification of speed signs in real time will assist the
driver, thereby significantly enhancing his / her safety. The road signs are usually positioned
near curved areas, hospital zones, school zones etc. to prevent accidents and traffic jams. Driver
must see the signs of the road and regulate the speed, or make the turn appropriately. Drivers
are inattentive to road signs that cause accidents because of various problems. In Previous
System, an idea is suggested to prevent accidents in which web camera uses Image processing
techniques and Raspberry Pi to automatically identify road signs.
