Financial Causes Delay in Construction of Building Projects: a Case study in Pakistan

Abstract

This research study addresses the problems pertain to the procrastination of finance in construction schemes, by investigating the basic problems and issues of delay. While offering appropriate solution for the problems and issues. The four major factors were explored in the review of literature: poor cash flow administration, late in terms of payment, the instability of the financial market and inadequate financial resources. Primary data was accumulated by using preliminary interviews, depth structure interviews, and survey-based questionnaire. The findings indicated that weak flow of the cash administration is the most prominent cause of the procrastinationin schemes along with inadequate financial resources, delay in payment by client, inconsistent stability of financial market, troubles in gaining advance from investor, the weak monetary trade administration of customers, the inconsistent monetary background of the contractor and the price rises were found the most prominent underlying reason. It was highlighted that customers play a crucial role in decreasing the influence of monetary problems towards prolong projectsâ procrastination. Numerous mitigation measures were suggested by the participants. This study shows the significance of to carry out grater research that focuses on customers achieving a well-organized course to gain instant payment exercise in the field of construction.
