Abstract

Hosta (plantain lily) is a widespread ornamental foliage culture, yet its systematics remains incomplete. The study of the reproductive sphere of five species of hostas (Hosta sieboldii (Paxton) Ingram, H. ventricosa Stearn, H. sieboldiana (Hooker) Engler, H. rectifolia Nakai, H. plantaginea Ascherson) when introduced in the Foothill Crimea is aimed at identifying species-specific traits and selecting promising species for breeding.
