Abstract

Biomass based energy is a source of renewable energy which is used for Generation of power in a country
which is popularly known as farming country [INDIA].Therefore as India is known by a farming country
and because of this excess amount of agri-Residue waste is generated in many states of INDIA and Punjab
is one of them which generates More than 40Mt of agri residue per year. As because Punjab is one of the
biggest base for generation of agri-Residue, Therefore In this present study work has been done to
improve the efficiency of purposed biomass power plant. Initially by scheduling the net energy output in
terms of kWh/Kg of biomass (including all the crops used in each month) comes out to be 1.637 kWh/Kg.
To improve the kWh/Kg output, conventional fuel having high calorific value i.e. coal is mixed by using the
technique of Co-Firing.
