A Prototype for Information Management in an Integrated Library System (ILS) for Data Import and Mapping

Abstract

Digital Reference services, or information services is a personal supportdelieveredto users in a questfor information. The establishmentof personalized information serviceshas continued to be the essentialsubjectoflibrary and information profession. The significance of these services has improved over time with the establishmentofnew technologies and services in archived. Reference system and information services has been the main component of library services and maintenance. The two provide personalized support for library consumers or users in retrieving and accessing appropriate information resources so as to meet their needs. This paper assess a prototype of reference and information services within a digital library atmosphere for data importation and mapping. The paper also highlights evolvinglayouts and prototypes of digital reference, such as e- mail services and web application, norms, search engines, online chat platforms, video conferencing services, robots, and alsodigital interaction(two-way) reference. The presentsystem of digital services in selected school and academic libraries in Malaysian nation are also emphasised. Results were compared for improved ILS system of mapping and importing data.
