Power Quality Enhancement Using UPQC

Abstract

The consumers in India and Worldover who are connected at the end of distribution system face the
problem of faulty voltage regulation. Through this paper, the problem of voltage regulation is
addressed using UPQC.Here we have proposed to use various control techniques for shunt inverter
in UPQC to upgrade the quality of power within the Distribution system. Simulation with UPQC is
done and its performance is compared. In this paper the Comparative study of various control
techniques is done with the UPQC during voltage sag, current swell and other faultly conditions
like THD. The simulation of the power distribution system for regulating the source voltage with
the help of UPQC has been done through application of MATLAB Simulink software.
