Nano-Cantilever Beam Design with Smart Materials

Abstract

There are various applications where cantilever bears are used like medical devices,
consumerproducts and automobiles .in this paper MEMS based cantilever beam of rectangular
shapes is designed and simulated using advanced nano materials like carbon Nano tubes
(CNTs)[1].The aim of this work is to expand the analogy between electrical and mechanical equitant
of nano cantilever beam . The analysis of the rectangular cantilever beam with the following
dimensions length 300 um, thickness 10um and weight 20um is done using COMSOLmultiphysics
software .simulations are done to obtain the bending stress and maximum deformation with nano
materials.
