Abstract

Watermarking is a successful method to restrict the illicit copyright of multimedia data.
Watermarking is a procedure of embedding or hiding any multi-media data into any form of multimedia data. This paper deals with comparative analysis of various watermarking techniques. The
discussed watermarking schemes are based on DCT, DWT and SVD. DWT provides good spatial
localization; frequency spread spectrum and multi-resolution, characteristics. DCT with
collaboration with SVD provides compression and desirable properties which result in excellent
watermarking. Various techniques are compared and analyzed according to their merits and
demerits.
