Abstract

Internet of Things is a new revolution in the field of research. IoT is internetworking of billions of
smart devices beyond the range of laptop, and tablets. The main components of IoT are devices
embedded with software or sensors called smart devices with artificial intelligence, high speed
connectivity with endpoint management, active engagement. With development of smart cities, smart
industries, smart healthcare smart home and assisted the requirement of energy increases
exponentially. This continuous increase in energy demand conjoined with limited energy reserves are
the main problem, which have to be resolved.Apart this the excessive use of electronic components
the level of carbon footprint also increasing results in increase of greenhouse effect. In this chapter
we discussed IoT, its architecture and applications in brief along with the challenges for
implementing the IoT Infrastructure. Various techniques and technologies werediscussed for
conservation and efficient utilization of Energy at different layer of IoT
