Abstract

Steganography implies the investigation consisting of inserting and hiding messages in a medium
called a cover text. Steganography is identified with cryptography.Steganography is a major
application of research in information safety and protection. It is a method of enclosing information
into the cover image without changing any significant properties of the cover image. The idea of
Steganography is to cover the origin of the message as to make it hard for the attackers to indentify
the secret message. There were various embedding techniques used to embed or hide the information
or data effectively. Eachtechnique usesextensively algorithm to hide the data which helps to improve
the effectiveness of that technique. In this paper we are analysing, comparing and contrasting various
spatial domain and transform domain image Steganographytechniques. Each technique in differ
domains show merits and demerits according to the application area in which they are going to be
implemented.
