Abstract

The medicinal plant seed have become important in the universal context today as it offer solutions to the major concerns of human mankind. The Macrotyloma uniflorum (Horse gram)  seed possess wide range of phytoconstituents (alkaloids, flavonoids, phenols, tannins, saponins glycosides, steroids, terpenoids, proteins and carbohydrate) in the various solvents (Hexane, Chloroform,Methanol,Ethnol and Aqueous) extracts. The effective antimicrobial assessments performed by agar cup diffusion method using pathogenic Gram -positive (S. aureus and K.pneumonia) as well as Gram- negative bacteria (E. coli) and fungal strains used were (A. flavus and Verticillum) strains by agar-cup diffusion method. The seed Macrotyloma uniflorum methanol extracts exhibited positive induction of antimicrobial activity against the selected strains. Which potentials the therapeutic effectiveness of Macrotyloma uniflorum  seed source.
