Abstract

The physiological and physical changes caused due to emotions affect human intelligence and
the surrounding world. Emotions are nothing but representation of inner feelings of any person
which can be recorded as EEG which is a direct response of brain to stimuli. For better
communication between human and machines, an emotion recognition technique based on EEG
is used widely. In this paper, a broad overview of proposed methods for recognition of emotion
using EEG that is published since last ten years is delivered. The analysis of this paper is
concentrated on feature extraction, selection and classification of EEG for emotion recognition.
This assessment will be a breakthrough for researchers in augmenting the development of EEG
based recognition of emotions.
