Drivers Of Agricultural Growth In India: An Econometric Analysis

Abstract

This study aims at analyzing the drivers of agricultural growth in India using data from the published sources such as central statistical organization and DES, Department of Agriculture. VECM has been used to explore the relationship between agriculture and use of fertilizer consumption,credit to agricultural sector, gross capital formation in agriculture and net Irrigated area. Results shows that the growth of agricultural GDP is depend on the use of fertilizer consumption and net irrigated area. Study also discussed some policy implications.
